EDDIE ZYNE
Eddie began playing drums at age 12 while attending a seminary in Miami, Florida. Growing up in
Miami he was involved in the music scene in which Stephen and Lee Tiger were two of the most
notable figures. Upon moving to New York City he landed the drumming spot with Daryl Hall and
John Oates and had three exciting years touring with them. Touring with successful songwriter
Desmond Child soon followed.
Eddie's extensive career has included playing with Stephen Dees, Tony Carey, Rick Derringer and Brian Howe. Eddie got to shine during The Monkees 20th Anniversary Tour where he not only got to play drums for the Monkees but also The Grass Roots and Gary Puckett.
In 1990 “Lonesome” Dave Peverett called on him to join Foghat along with other founding member Rod Price. After three great years he went on to form “The Livesays” with Billy Livesay. He worked closely with Billy on the “Little Bit of Hurt” CD and the synergy between the two is unmistakable. Eddie and Billy are currently working on a “Slow Ride” CD
with Foghat founding member Tony Stevens on bass.
Eddie has also been available to the educational system in Miami in a number of ways. He originated and taught the MIDI classes Miami-Dade Community College. He has been responsible for the organization of recording sessions for the same college as well as working with legendary producer, Tom Dowd, as part of his Masters of Music Super Session event hosted by NARAS.
For years Eddie split his time between Miami and New York. On one of his return visits he became involved once again with his old friends, Stephen and Lee Tiger. He joined “Tiger Tiger” and for many years has played with them on live shows and has been on many of their CDs. He enjoys the creativeness of their recording process and believes that
their latest CD, “Native To This Country”, is probably their best work yet.
Eddie has long standing endorsements with Sabian Cymbals and Pearl Drums. Go to to see his drum layout.
